1. Balto
In 1925, the town of Nome, Alaska was hit by a diphtheria outbreak. The only way to get the life-saving serum to Nome was by dogsled. Balto, a Siberian Husky, led the team of sled dogs that made the treacherous journey through a blizzard. Balto and his team traveled over 600 miles in just five days, saving the lives of countless people.

Hachiko was an Akita dog who lived in Japan in the early 1900s. Every day, Hachiko would accompany his owner to the Shibuya train station and wait for him to return home from work. One day, Hachiko's owner died suddenly at work. Hachiko continued to go to the train station every day, waiting for his owner to return. Hachiko waited for his owner for nine years, until he died in 1935.
3. Laika
Laika was a stray dog who was chosen to be the first living creature to orbit the Earth. In 1957, Laika was placed in the Soviet spacecraft Sputnik 2 and launched into space. Laika became the first living creature to orbit the Earth, but she unfortunately died in space due to overheating and stress.
4. Lucca
Lucca is a guide dog who was trained to help her owner, a Marine veteran, recover from PTSD. Lucca helps her owner by providing stability and emotional support. Lucca also helps her owner navigate through crowds and avoid triggers that could cause him to have an anxiety attack.
5. Cairo
Cairo is a dog who saved his owner's life by alerting him to a fire in their home. Cairo started barking and pawing at his owner's bedroom door, waking him up. His owner was able to escape the burning house safely thanks to Cairo's warning.
These are just a few of the many inspiring stories of brave, heroic, and devoted dogs. Dogs are truly amazing creatures that deserve all of our love and respect.
